Christmas Survey! I'm going to answer most of these questions for Christmases past, since I haven't done anything for Xmas for years. ( Under the cut ) :: +Memory :: Tell a Friend :: Reply I am going to yap about my
I only wish that I had more time for stocking stuffer fics. Every other idea I have would take too long to write. I'll mull it over; maybe I can get a gift fic or two written (probably not though). Just not a drabble person. * If you are in an area which has had snow, I am jealous of you.
* Scott's sister, her husband and two school-aged children will be coming to Oklahoma for Christmas. I hope her eldest son, who has graduated from high school, can come too, as it would most likely be the last Christmas we'll all have together - 'cause, you know, he's grown-up now and has a life of his own - and he hasn't been out here in years. Also, he's kind of my favorite, mainly because I've known him the longest and he bestowed upon me my nickname. He was two and couldn't pronounce my name correctly; it came out "Shisha". And Shisha I remain, over fifteen years later. * I am worried to death about unexpectedly hosting company because we really don't have the money for extra food and utility bills, particularly because of upcoming items due (*coughcough* we got the $2200 bill for the water line replacement.) * I used my birthday money, which I'd forgotten I'd saved, to buy my youngest son his Weenie Whistle. It's going to be a great Christmas. * My dog Jet is OMGSHEDDING. Great clumps of hair are falling off of her. To look at her, you'd not notice. To look at my living room rug, you'd shudder and scream and run for the vaccuum. * We went to the Oklahoma City Musuem of Art yesterday and I took about 579 pictures of Chihuly with the new camera I got this year. I love my camera. * I would like to have a pro account on Flickr so I can share more photos. * I would also like a "Burberry" plaid scarf (tan with cream, crimson and black). I saw some on sale at Macy's for 19.99. No, 'crow! No Burberry scarf for you! Also no snowflake cookie cutters! And no teapot, teacup, leaf or Eiffel Tower cookie cutters, either! * There are four teapot calendars left at the calendar kiosk. I could have bought one but I'm hoping there will still be at least one left after Christmas, when they are half off. I will not manage in my cubicle without a teapot calendar. It must be a teapot calendar. Not even Greece or Marilyn Monroe or sunflowers will do. It must be a teapot calendar. I'm seriously thinking about going back to the kiosk this week to make sure I get a teapot calendar and hang the half-off. It's that important. * Today I need to get clean, change the sheets on the bed, clean the fishtanks (especially with my cichlid-raising brother-in-law coming), wrap presents, and make cookie dough. And OMGbrush Jet. And probably do some laundry. And sweep and vaccuum. I want to be on vacation. * Tomorrow I must bake cookies - the dough has to set overnight - and decorate them. I didn't realize before a day or two ago that we'd be having company. I was intending to decorate Wednesday. Company shall arrive Wednesday. I cannot have Wednesday decorating time. * I CANNOT EAT MY OWN COOKIES, THANK YOU CORN ALLERGIES. * I do not want to lock my cat in the laundry room when my brother-in-law stays here. He's allergic to cats. He hasn't visited since we got Minna. My old cat, Grim, was okay about being in the laundry room. She'd rather be with me, but she'd just go to sleep in piles of laundry. No big deal. Minna WANTS MOMMA and she is not afraid to let people know that. * What'd we do on Saturday? We did something on Saturday. Oh, yeah. Scott took care of Christmas shopping (both foodstuffs and presents) courtesy my forgotten birthday money. I so rock. We made a list and checked it about five times before I sent him off. When he came home we put food in the fridge and went to the mall, where I saw all the things I want (I didn't even look at clothes because I am salivating so over certain colors of WARM SWEATERS, which I kind of need right now. I mean, I have sweaters, so it's not a desperate situation. But most of my sweaters - I have about ten - are either faded, pilled or otherwise old looking, or too thin to do a lot of good because I really feel the cold. I want an emerald sweater! And a yellow one. And I want some warm comfy sho... I need to shut up. This is why I should not go to the mall. Except to get my teapot calendar. I require my teapot calendar for 2010's mental well-being. For serious.) * Had an abbreviated Christmas light tour on Saturday night. Scott's knee really started hurting so we had to cut it short. I did not get a picture of Kaisers as we drove by, because I wasn't expecting it. We had Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Andy Williams, etc. in the car and had just come out of the downtown and Heritage Hills areas. And driving through midtown was like seeing the past for just a few seconds. Here are some pictures others have taken: day and night. I also didn't get shots of some of the nifty displays in downtown windows. Which sucks. And not very many pictures of the lights in Nichols Hills. Not that anyone's going to see them anyway. I just like having them. Hoarding them. * Yeah. Crikey. Shower and all that.... 10:46 RT @nineinchnails: Check out the trailer for the upcoming free fan-produced DVD/Blu-ray release from @Thisoneisonus: bit.ly/8iP26a Automatically shipped by LoudTwitterIf I don't post much in the next few days, it's because I'm working on my
Bronchitis no longer knows how to read a calendar. It's only supposed to return every 2 months, not every month. At least it's still sticking to around the 15th. :P Yeah, I have it again. Currently lying here having trouble breathing. Not "OMG let's head for the hospital!" trouble, but enough to be annoying and noticeable. Also fighting off a sinus headache. Ohhhh weeeeell. :) While packing more shit, I threw out some old magazine clippings. My original intention was to collect the articles on bands I don't care about and sell them, but I've been planning to do that since at least 1990 and I haven't found time to get it all organized yet, so I figure it's never going to happen. So I tossed most of it. I still have a whole box of magazines I haven't torn up yet anyway. Anywho, it was kind of fun looking at some of the pictures of bands I once collected on but now don't care much about, at least in terms of keeping pics. Robin Crosby of Ratt and Tom Keifer of Cinderella make the same Zoolander face in most of their pics. XD I remembered how my sister and I once had a really big fight over a magazine pic because Poison was on one side and Stryper on the other, so who would get it? Now I'm throwing away 99.999999% of those Poison pics. It's funny. 12:35 I hate Big Truck Tacos. 21:29 Son has FINALLY finished as much schlwk as he can finish at the last possible minute. It's all out of my hands now. 21:30 One more day of wk & schl - tomorrow at 4:30 I am done until Dec. 28. Xcept for Xmas shopping & baking. 21:31 Have been sick w/ food allergy issues all week. May finally get some time to write & respond to online friends soon. Now, though: sleep. Automatically shipped by LoudTwitterAm not dead. Yet.
Still not king, either. Haven't been on the computer much of late; this weekend was my eldest son's twelfth birthday party; I prepped for and attended that, and after I was made aware of some things I was not aware of before. This rather killed any desire I had to be communicative. I spent the rest of Saturday, all of Sunday and most of Monday in a daze and a haze. Things should be somewhat better now, but The Eldest needs the computer to finish a social studies project that was due November 2. His teacher is being exceedingly gracious in letting him turn it in before the semester is over this Friday (for partial credit; there's no way I'd accept full.) I've recently started reading Kristin Cashore's Fire. Love it. I want to know what happens! I do not want the story to end! I feel it's slightly better done than Graceling, which I also adored. Recommended, especially if you have a fondness for YA and / or fantasy and / or romantic writing and / or strong(ly written) female characters. My favorite Christmas / winter song. Just sayin'. You guys.
I really, really suck. I complain that I don't get comments or have friends, and I do get comments and have friends. It's sad that it takes a small tragedy to make me realize it. I love you guys. I really, really do. You're awesome. Much love, Me 10:00 Finally got all of the Christmas decorations up! bit.ly/81mq8F 10:20 The Youngest wrapped a birthday present for his brother: bit.ly/7NGNzH Automatically shipped by LoudTwitter |
